Generations is the episode of the commemoration, but it could also rhyme with reconciliation, rehabilitation and consecration. Reconciliation between Sonic fans who swear by the Megadrive era and supporters of modern Sonic, rehabilitation episodes in 3D and most maligned consecration of recent efforts to restore the prestige SEGA its mascot (think Sonic Colours ). But beyond the real tribute it represents, and enamel compromise enchapé a good fan-service layer, the game does not have all the essential qualities of a Sonic exception if its realization technical and artistic is impeccable, we can not say the same about the gameplay, improved, or even the level design, rather uneven. We can only praise the intentions of the Sonic Team, but once again, the result lacks a little piquant.Même if it's less embarrassing default Sonic Generations was expected first to better in terms of history and staging. The latter showed that the Sonic game platforms could benefit from an effort in this direction, but in this case, it is far from being the case. Although less impressive than usual, the opening cinematic shows briefly how the hedgehog friends, gathered around a birthday, suddenly kidnapped by a sort of interdimensional demon. The blue hedgehog is therefore obliged to seek them in the space-time and the opportunity to cross the retro version, with whom he teamed. This is still a pitch a little light for a memorial episode, especially the cut-scenes are fairly cheap and completely failed dubbing in French (dialogs are almost non-existent anyway).
